Now out of print, Dublin is Krass Clement’s quietly autobiographical account of three journeys through the city in 1991. Photographed in the restrained, melancholic spirit of Drum—a subtle, increasingly scarce book valued by thoughtful collectors.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Photographed in March 1991 and published more than two decades later, 'Dublin' is an introspective and restrained portrait of the Irish capital by Danish photographer Krass Clement. Working in black and white, Clement records the city during a period of social and economic uncertainty, focusing on quiet street corners, passing figures, and moments of solitude rather than overt narrative.

Closely aligned in spirit with Clement’s celebrated photobook 'Drum', the images possess a similar autobiographical quality, shaped by the photographer’s repeated journeys into and out of the city while staying nearby in Monaghan. Published in a limited first edition, 'Dublin' is now regarded as a key work within Clement’s oeuvre and an important contribution to late‑20th‑century European street photography.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:
Krass Clement (b. 1946) is a Danish photographer recognised for his understated, deeply personal approach to documentary photography. Initially trained as a film director at the Danish Film School, Clement turned to photography in the 1970s, developing a vocabulary marked by restraint, quiet observation, and autobiographical structure. His seminal photobook 'Drum' (1996) is widely regarded as one of the most important European photobooks of the late 20th century, and remains central to his reputation. Clement’s work frequently explores transitory moments and peripheral urban spaces, and is held in public and private collections across Europe.

ABOUT THE PUBLISHER:
RRB Publishing is an independent British publisher specialising in high‑quality photographic books. Founded by Rudi Thoemmes, the imprint is closely associated with RRB Photobooks, a long‑established specialist in rare and out‑of‑print photography titles. RRB Publishing is known for its close collaboration with photographers and its focus on rigorously edited, materially refined publications, contributing significantly to contemporary photobook culture.
