Decorative cast iron doorstop modelled as a nesting hen protecting her eggs, accompanied by a chick. Hand-painted in naturalistic colours with a richly decorated base featuring gilt ornamental details.

The original painted finish remains visible throughout, with attractive age-related wear and patina consistent with use and age. A substantial and heavy cast iron example suitable both as a functional doorstop and as a decorative interior object.
