● About the Artwork

"A fragment of classical beauty is reinterpreted through a dynamic composition of waves, floral motifs and graphic ornamentation. The bold tattoo inspired patterns disrupt the stillness traditionally associated with marble sculpture, introducing movement, energy and contemporary symbolism. Rather than altering the figure, the intervention reveals a new layer of identity hidden beneath the surface. The artwork explores the relationship between tradition and transformation, questioning how cultural icons remain relevant by continuously absorbing new meanings. Through the collision of classical form and modern visual language, the piece becomes a celebration of reinvention."

The artwork has been created through a contemporary digital collage process combining photography, multi-layered visual assemblage and advanced digital composition. Using photomontage techniques and image manipulation.

● About the Artist

Nando López (Barcelona) is the founder of Dikhotomy (DKT), an artistic project dedicated to exploring how images change their meaning when they are relocated into new cultural contexts.

His work establishes connections between historical iconography, popular culture, everyday objects, and visual memory, creating artworks that move between irony, visual appropriation, and contemporary reinterpretation.

Through limited edition prints, paintings, assemblages, and object-based installations, he develops a visual universe where the familiar appears altered, generating new perspectives on consumption, desire, identity, and pop culture.

His work has been exhibited internationally and is also represented through various concept stores in Spain, France, Belgium, and Norway. Among his notable achievements are a solo exhibition at Gamla Kraftstationen Gallery (Sweden) and the publication of his artwork “I Am Jesus” as the cover image of Newsweek Polska in May 2024.
