A commemorative silver proof coin issued by the Banco de Cabo Verde to mark the 40th anniversary of both Cape Verde's National Independence and the establishment of the country's central bank (1975–2015). This dual-anniversary release reflects the nation's journey of development and monetary sovereignty since gaining independence.
The obverse depicts the "250 ESCUDOS" denomination alongside the National Emblem of Cape Verde, surrounded by a ring of stars, with a collection of symbols representing finance, economics, and statistics (currency signs, percentage symbols, graphs, and Greek letters), and the inscription "1975 – 40 ANOS – 2015."
The reverse, titled "40 ANOS DE DESENVOLVIMENTO" ("40 Years of Development"), is divided into four quadrants depicting key pillars of national progress: education (a teacher at a chalkboard), renewable energy and infrastructure (wind turbines, solar panels, housing and water access), connectivity (stylised figures representing communication/technology), and community/healthcare (a family group with a medical figure). The years "1975" and "2015" flank the base of the design.

This coin comes complete with its original Certificate of Guarantee and presentation case, issued directly by the Banco de Cabo Verde.
