Sonia Anton is a Romanian-Australian contemporary artist whose work combines abstraction, expressive figuration and bold colour. Growing up in Antibes, surrounded by her mother’s atelier, she developed an instinctive connection to painting from an early age.
Having lived across Europe, Australia and Mexico, Sonia draws inspiration from different cultures, human emotion and everyday experiences. Her work is intuitive, energetic and recognisable for its vivid palette, layered forms and expressive visual language. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout Romania, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands.
