Beskrivelse fra selgeren
Mid-Century Italian Display Cabinet /liquor cabinet, c. 1950s
Elegant Italian Mid-Century display cabinet, dating to approximately the 1950s, in a highly decorative Baroque/Rococo revival style.
The cabinet is constructed in veneered wood (walnut and mahogany) with a warm walnut-toned finish, including a central glass hinged doors, creating an attractive display and reflective effect. The exterior is richly decorated with hand-painted and gilded ornamental scrollwork, with elaborate cartouche-like motifs to the lower panels.
The cabinet stands on four distinctive shaped cabriole legs, continuing the gilded decorative treatment and giving the piece a particularly elegant silhouette. The interior is fitted with glass shelves and lined in a burgundy/red textile.
A striking example of Italian decorative furniture of the post-war period, combining traditional 18th-century-inspired forms with the craftsmanship and theatrical decoration characteristic of Italian furniture of the 1950s.
Materials: Wood, wood veneer, glass, mirror, gilded and painted decoration, textile lining
Condition: Good vintage condition, with signs of age and use consistent with its period.
There are some defects on the wood surface. Please refer carefully to the photographs for details.
The cabinet was used as liquor cabinet, so, there is still alcohol smell remained.
