Vintage Chilean cowboy spurs with 41 rowels

An amazing pair or authentic and rare Chilean nickel spurs. Or as they are called in Chili Espuelas. These were worn by the Huasos, Chilean cowboys. These spurs are distinct from others because of its unique decoration, the amount of points on the rowel, and the beautiful sound they make when they are worn. They are an excellent example of South American craftsmanship. Length: ca 20 cm Height: ca 10 cm Thickness: ca 8 mm With the original leather 'belts' to attach them to the heel of a boot. They are used and in their original vintage condition, unpolished. The Chilean Huasos are an honoured part of the country's history. Their endurance and expert horsemanship earned them the respect of their fellow countrymen. Huasos are dressed in a bright coloured poncho, the chamanto, a straw hat, the chupalla, a short jacket, loose trousers, and high boots. For special events they also wore stirrups, spurs, and a red sash around their middle. They represent the Chilean culture and folklore in many aspects.
