Oldtidens Kina, Ming dynastiet Keramikk Mannlig tjenerfigur (Ingen reservasjonspris)

Ming Dynasty Pottery Male Servant Figure Circa 14th-17th century AD This hollow moulded pottery figure represents a male servant, positioned in obeisance on a two-tier pedestal base. The figure holds a large object with his left hand. Adorned with a high hat featuring a brim, the figure is attired in a long outer green robe, intricately incised to mimic folds, fastened at the waist with an ochre-glazed sash, and clad in black boots. The facial features are meticulously detailed, featuring deep-set eyes, red lips, and earlobes with perforations. Mingqi, the funerary figures, were designed to accompany the deceased into the afterlife and fulfil their needs. The most prevalent forms of mingqi represented various aspects of daily life, such as servants, musicians, soldiers, and animals. Cf. The British Museum, Museum number 1938,0524.29.
