Kashan Ochre Glazed Bowl
Circa 12th-13th century AD
Glazed in ochre, this pottery bowl features a hollow ring foot, a rounded body, and a thick pronounced rim. Its unglazed portions add contrast and visual interest.
The city of Kashan reached the pinnacle of its ceramic production during the Islamic Golden Age, particularly between the 12th and 14th centuries. Kashan ceramics are characterized by their intricate patterns, often inspired by nature, and the skilled use of turquoise and cobalt glazes.
