Michael Tkatschow is a German artist and art lecturer at the Stade Art School.
He graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, Department of Design and Illustration.
The artist works in various techniques (primarily acrylic painting and mixed media) and combines abstract and surreal forms and textures with figurative classical painting in his distinctive visual language.
The painting "Kupala Night" is one of his latest works from 2025, in which the artist devotes himself more to classical figurative painting. He intentionally inflicts random "scars" such as scratches, holes, or discolorations on the motif.
The imperfection of the surface as an element of transience , creation and destruction. Inyō (陰陽) principle, where the bright qualities unite with shadowy aspects, complementing each other.
The artist's works can be found in private collections and companies in Germany,
France, Spain, and even Australia and Japan.
Ideal for collectors interested in unusual contemporary German art.
