Beskrivelse fra selgeren
This attractive and well-curated selection of 15 original 78rpm shellac records brings together some of the most recognisable voices in mid-century popular music, classic film material, dance-band favourites, and post-war light-orchestral arrangements. Spanning the years 1931–1954, the collection offers a varied cross-section of transatlantic popular music styles, including crooner ballads, big-band foxtrots, film songs, early pop hits, and sentimental wartime recordings.
Featuring major international artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat ‘King’ Cole, Bing Crosby, Frankie Laine, The Mills Brothers and Al Jolson, alongside British favourites Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, Dickie Valentine, and noted dance-band leader Ambrose, the set provides a rich musical survey of the pre-LP era. All discs are authentic UK pressings issued on historically important labels including Capitol, Columbia, Decca, Brunswick, HMV, and Regal Zonophone.
A desirable group for collectors, archivists, and enthusiasts of vintage crooner recordings, dance-band music, film-related songs, and classic mid-century popular styles.
