ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Le Fennec” embodies alertness, adaptability and quiet intelligence.
The fennec fox, with its oversized ears and sharp posture, symbolizes heightened perception and survival instinct. In this composition, I chose a vertical stance to emphasize elegance and attentiveness. The gaze is subtle yet focused — observant rather than aggressive.
Using my double-layer stencil technique, every detail of the fur was digitally designed and meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint. The contrasts between shadow and light sculpt the animal’s form while preserving the graphic strength characteristic of stencil art.
The turquoise and blue textured background was created instinctively, evoking desert heat refracted through cool tones — a contemporary reinterpretation of its natural habitat. The spontaneity of the abstract surface contrasts with the precision of the stencil, reinforcing the core tension of my artistic language.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind artwork. While the stencil may return in future explorations, each background is unique, ensuring that every piece carries its own atmosphere and energy.
