This work created in 2026 by Michael Peddio belongs to the pictorial research dedicated to the Earth observed from above, a series started by the artist in 2025 in which the landscape is reinterpreted through a vision suspended between reality and abstraction.

Critique taken from Galleria Reart of Reggio Emilia - The composition suggests a hilly territory crossed by a winding road that opens into the space of the painting like a human trace in the natural landscape. A road sign emerges as a symbolic and narrative element, introducing a almost metaphysical dimension: an indication of direction, a boundary or perhaps a warning within a territory in continuous transformation. Above the horizon rises a powerful red vertical form that crosses the sky, evoking a atmospheric or energetic phenomenon that connects earth and space. This element becomes the visual core of the work, creating a dynamic tension between the underlying landscape and the celestial dimension. The painting alternates matter, glazes and gestural marks, building a surface rich in chromatic stratifications. Warm earth tones, orange and red dialogue with lighter and brighter fields, suggesting the perception of a territory observed from a mental distance more than geographic.

In this vision the landscape is not simply represented, but transformed into an emotional map, where signs and symbols become traces of human presence within a vast and ever-changing environment.

Michael Peddio: My free expression is not confined by a preconceived idea, but conveyed through color and forms as the sole instrument, a return to a primordial form of art. The absence of drawing is, for me, a prerogative of the indeterminacy of the work at birth; as in life and especially in the times we live in, there can be no certainty of outcome for any situation. My painting evolves from a white canvas to an unpredictable finale. For me there exists only the acceptance of art as an unpredictable and uncontrollable process. ''

Michael Peddio has taken his first steps since childhood, inspired by his father Riccardo, a painter. The turning point occurs around 30, thanks to meeting master Teobaldo Cattini, a Regian Macchiaiolo painter, who opens the doors to painting. A great source of inspiration and strength from the painter who is a former boxer. In 2012 the meeting with artist Barbara Nicoletto, his current partner, opens the doors to his second artistic season and to artistic maturity. Between 2013 and 2014 painting begins to take on an inner meaning. Figuration begins to give way to introspection. Inner strength prevails and the canvas becomes a slit; with the passing of years, increasingly unfiltered, increasingly unreserved in showing one's I. Strength and weaknesses are shown without shame. Man is naked, without masks.

In April 2016 he is noticed by critic Daniel Buso and, together with his partner Barbara Nicoletto, he exhibits in: Il Museo in Vetrina, Bipersonale at Museo CA’ DEI CARRARESI in Treviso, a very important location rarely granted to an emerging artist.
In 2018 Michael Peddio reaches artistic maturity. His paintings are free from conditioning, they express with harmony and beauty all the raw reality that the artist wants to be shown. We find strength and harmony. We find positivity even in tragedy. We find beauty.
Since 2018 the artist collaborates with Galleria REART, opens up to the art world and interacts with other artists on the national scene. We see him exhibit and also curate shows. He, together with artist Barbara Nicoletto and Giorgio Ferretti, founds the movement of the Chromatists. They meet in a Factory, a place of exchange and work.
In 2020 the meeting with Angela Lazzaretti, owner of Radium Artis Gallery, is a great source of exchange with the art world at the national level for Michael Peddio. The exhibition in Pietrasanta at the Radium Artis Gallery was the debut in serious art, at 46 years old, giving him the visibility his works deserve.
In 2021 the meeting with critic and curator Alberto Navilli opens to another evolutionary step that sees his art grow more and more on the road of an ever cruder and uncompromising spontaneity.
