After studying in Kyoto, he developed his artistic voice under the influence of prominent printmakers such as Umetaro Azechi and Takeji Asano. His later experience in Boston further enriched his work with modern design sensibilities.
Fukami’s art is characterized by bold black lines, layered colors, and a warm, lyrical atmosphere. His subjects—often animals and everyday scenes—are transformed into expressive and comforting images that resonate widely with collectors.
