Keris Bugis / Buginese kris (1) - drewno i żelazo - Kris/keris - Indonezja

Buginese Kris with the Sepokal Pamor blade. This type of Kris blade are only seen in Buginese Krises and is both robust and graceful. These Krises were actually used for fighting by the Buginese (pirates, originally from Celebes, but during the raids through the centuries, spread throughout the archipelago (especially Sumatra and Malaysia). This beautiful Kris comes from Celebes (nowadays Sulawesi), Indonesia. Celebes is the origin of the Bugis Tribe. In addition to the typical shape of the blade, the Kris has a clear pamor (damask-like pattern). This is caused by the technique of forging various types of iron in layers by the Empu (traditional Kris blacksmith). This kris has a pamor named Jujung Darajad (translated: increasing prestige). This rare and beautiful pamor is known for its good magical properties and is often combined with a different pamor pattern. In this case, the combining pamor (in my opinion) is Ngulit Semankga, which is also known for its positive properties. The kris is from mid18th century. The kris has a beautiful wooden sheath only seen with Buginese Kris, a typical Buginese wooden hilt (stylised bird) with a beautiful Selut (ring / spherical cup). End is made of bone. The length of the blade is 36 cm, the length of the entire Kris is 45 cm. This Kris comes from the collection of an old member of the Kris Association (Studiegroep De Keris), who is born in Jakarta (Indonesia). He has collected art from the Indonesian Archipelago all his life and was a lover of special Kris and had built up a beautiful Kris collection. The sale, purchase and possession of arms are subject to national laws and regulations. Please make sure that you are familiar with the laws and regulations of your country BEFORE bidding. The sale of weapons to people aged under 18 is prohibited. By placing a bid, you declare to be 18 years old or older and that you have verified that it is legal to purchase this kind of object in your country.
