Antique ring 'sultan's favorite' in gold with garnets and amethyst
The low-gold-content ring is very old. Received after a honeymoon to Istanbul in the early 1920s, this ring is made up of 4 bands of garnets ranging from 0.30 to 0.12 ct, for a total of 20 garnets. One very luminous amethyst constitutes its distinctive element. The ring doesn't bear any visible hallmarks, but it was tested and found to be 12 kt gold and 4.79 grams. It will be packed in the box in which it has been stored for the past 40 years and carefully packaged for shipment.
