Carl Zeiss Jena 8x Pocket Folding metal jewellers loupe, magnifying glass Dated 1929 approx and cased in metal. The standard to which these loupes were made was of the highest quality and the magnification is as good now as the day it was made. Made in brass with a silver colour plating which has been applied over the brass, the glass which is situated inside the metal screws on and off for cleaning purposes. This item was made by the Carl Zeiss in the Jena factory, who were a leading player in this type of object from approx 1846 and still are today. Folds in and out of its metal casing so that it easy to carry and you can take it anywhere you wish, these metal CZ loupes are harder to find than the plastic CZ folding loupes you see today. Item is in very good age related condition with the normal wear you expect of something of this age, some plating loss whereby the brass colouring is showing through and the casing which holds the glass is slightly misshapen.
