A special 1st grade designer ring from 1980. Designer: William Lewellyn Griffith. Ring length: 15.5 cm. William’s jewellery is a fusion of old and new, both in design and technique. His aesthetic is heavily influenced by the art and architecture of the past. The soaring grandeur of the Medieval, the beauty of the Renaissance or the excesses of the Baroque period inspire him to create jewellery that draw on forms and features that evoke the past. 4-piece, full finger claw ring in the shape of a dragon, with a skull on the side, the mark WlG on the other side, a tail with 7 vertebrae on top, a movable centre part, a head with 3 large vertebrae on top and snakes along the head. A large black stone on top of the head of 2.5 x 1.3 cm. Marked 925 for sterling. Size: 20. Claw: 15.5 cm. The claw rests on the top of the hand and the tail goes over the tip of the finger.
