Scarce set of 16 volumes (1 - 14 and 16 - 17) of the ‘Horse Illustrated’, which was the journal of The Institute of the Horse and Pony Club, the precursor of the British Horse Society. Each book offers advice on horse health and care, plus user-friendly training and riding. The books are profusely illustrated throughout with colour, black and white plates. Published by John Bale, Sons & Danielsson, Ltd, London, 1930 - 1946. Publisher’s original blue and brown boards with gilt lettering on spines. Book Dimensions: 24 x 15 cm 16 Volumes, with over 3500 pages Weighing in excess of 9 kilograms unpackaged. Condition The books are generally in overall good condition, with light wear to boards’ corners, edges and head and foot of spines. The earlier dated books have some marks to covers. Few books affected by water damage, marks to covers and some very obvious staining on the inside pages. Tried to show this in photos, but not always clear. The contents are tight and clear, with bright illustrations (Please see pictures).
