Talisker 1980 44 years old - 44 year old forests of the deep Parley - b. 1980 - 70cl

The box and the bottle are completely new and not damaged. The weight is about 2 kilograms. Exceptionally well-aged Talisker single malt created in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, a non-profit organisation that works to protect marine ecosystems around the world. Finishing in unique ‘marine casks’ contributes an additional maritime edge to this complex, old Highland malt. The oldest ever official release of Talisker – at time of bottling – this expression shows the Skye distillery at its very best, packed with earthy spices, wax and umami notes of seaweed and brine. The story of this exceptional whisky begins with an expedition to the ‘Great African Sea Forest’ off the Cape of Good Hope – undertaken as part of the Re-wild our Seas partnership between Talisker and Parley. Aboard the mission yacht were scientists, filmmakers and a cargo of oak staves. After returning to Scotland, these globetrotting timbers were formed into ten casks and charred using sustainably sourced kelp before being filled with rare Talisker single malt.
