CHARACTERISTICS OF BENJAMÍN ROMEO COLLECTION Nº4 LA DEHESA 2017 PREPARATION: The La Dehesa Collection Nº4 wine uses grapes collected from the La Dehesa de Pangua farm as raw material. This plot, located between the lands of the Rioja towns of San Vicente de La Sonsierra and Briones, has vines that are more than 100 years old (some of them foot-loam) planted on poor sandstone soils, at more than 700 meters of altitude. Its harvest is done by hand at the beginning of October and its winemaking follows a completely traditional process. The grapes are destemmed in the winery and fermented in oak wood tanks. Finally, the wine is transferred to new French oak barrels where it ages for 18 months. The wine rests in new French oak barrels for 18 months where it is refined and rounded until bottling, without any type of filtering or clarification. GRAPE: A red wine made up of 100% Grenache grapes. APPEARANCE: Cherry red color with a middle layer and violet edge. AROMA: On the nose, notes of wild aromatic herbs combined with fruit aromas stand out. TASTE: Immediately you can appreciate the fresh and sweet notes of ripe fruits with a slight acidic and balsamic touch. PAIRING: Ideal as an accompaniment to red meat and large game dishes, roast lamb or stews. SERVICE: The recommended temperature for service is 16ºC.
