Castellani - Pregadeira - 18 K Ouro amarelo

As with this 18K yellow gold Victorian brooch, the Italian jewellery brand "Castellani" is a master in towing anyone along to an ancient place where time stood still. The blue with white centre is of exquisite detailed micro mosaic, composed in small square pieces of enamel threads - also called "smalti falti" in Italian. Various gold filigree patterns beam from around the archaic middle. In any means, the letters EY stand for "Good Health" Victorian, ca. 1880 Note The founder of Castellani, Fortunato Pio Castellani, first opened his shop in Rome in 1814. In 1826, he met his lifelong friend and collaborator Michaelangelo Caetani and their company became the most original and prolific producer of jewellery in the 'archaeological' style, so called because most of their work was based on actual Etruscan, Greek or Roman jewellery. This followed the excavation of Etruscan tombs in the area around Rome in the 1830s. Provenance Dr. Markus Im Obersteg AG, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, 1999 Private collection Dr. Gerd and Sigrid von der Gönna, Germany, acquired from the above Condition Intact and in very good state of preservation Shipping terms Worldwide shipping. No export permit needed to ship from Switzerland.Buyers have to cover transport costs and any additional import costs (e.g. VAT, import levies). You also acknowledge and accept that you are responsible for checking if there is any specific rule or restriction applicable to the import of an object into your country.
