The front engraving reads "Gyokan'in Hōgaku-dai Ekoji, Jōju'in Hōkyō-dai Kaoru Daishi," while the back is inscribed with "Gentleman, 5th day of the 9th month, 6th year of Bunka (1809); Lady, 3rd day of the 6th month, 10th year of Bunsei (1827)."
