Internally very good, spotting to endpapers/advertisements, toning to the margins, pencil inscriptions at rear endpapers, gutters showing slightly but binding intact and reasonably strong, shelf-lean, cloth lightly worn, spine a little discoloured and some wear to the head and foot ends.

Good early copy of this scarce title by Darwin, and one of the most important works of scientific study ever published.
