Antique Edwardian sterling silver pair of square-based candlesticks decorated in a neoclassical style with swags and greco-roman figures. They have detachable scones.
Made in London, 1911
Made by William Comyns
Fully English hallmarked for sterling silver.
The dimensions of this fine pair of hand-made antique silver candlesticks are:
Length 24.5 cm
Wide at base 11.8 x 11.8 cm
Approx. 691 + 738 = 1429 gram (weighted for stability) (bobèches weigh 59 grams together)
Condition: Very good condition. Decoration is in crisp detail. Tiny pin prickindentations here and there. Both scones are in fair condition, some corners are slightly pussed down. If you take the scones off, on one candlestick the top is indentated there as well. Next to that, I say this is one of the prettiest candlesticks I have ever seen, beautiful!
