Highly unusual set of 6 sterling silver demitasse coffee spoons in Neoclassical style. The spoon handles are shaped as Corinthian columns with vertical lines topped by applied acanthus leaves. These would be the perfect size for espresso cups, but could also work as small teaspoons.
George V period, made by Mappin and Webb and cased in the original retail case made of blue leather and lined with cream silk and velvet. The box is trimmed with an embossed scrolling gilt border and marked inside with Mappin and Webb's Royal Warrant mark, which they have held since 1897.
