old Andenne porcelain/biscuit ___ religious holy statue of St. Hubert 19th century
Very rare statue of Saint Hubertus, patron saint of the hunters.
Beautifully hand painted coloured biscuit/porcelain made Andenne (vieux Bruxelles) 19th century, ca 1880.
H maximum = 15.5 cm
W x L 4.5 x 5.5 cm
beautiful condition, with porcelain feet with the "st hubert" on it which is vaguely legible.
Depiction:
Hubert in hunting equipment, hunter’s hat, hunter’s boots, crossbow pressed against his chest, hunting horn at his hip, hunting dog beside him,
Saint Hubert is now know as patron saint of the hunt, and was called upon against rabies.
Name day is November 3.
