Fitted antique box with 24 silver French hallmarked fruit knives with ebony handles. The silver blades hallmarked with the Minerva head ( used from 1838) and a markers mark. Retailed by Gorini Freres, joualliers & orfevres, Paris- Poitiers. The silver mounts on the handles are decorated with honeysuckle, ribbon wreaths and foliage. The set of 24 knives is in good condition and the original fitted box as well. Neo classical style. Circa 1902. Provenance: Agier family, Johannesburg, South Africa. The ancestors of this family lived on a castle in Potiers, France. Each knife measures 19, 2 x 1,5 cm. The box 24 x 22,5 x 2,5 cm
