The vase measures at its highest point 33cm, the base is 5.7 cm square, the flared mouth is 13cm wide, the opening of the vase is 2cm and it weighs a sturdy 845g.
The vase is in perfect condition. It does have a couple of fabrication inclusions, as seen on the photos, these are often a normal by-product of mouth blown glass.
The vase carries the label of Fa W. Johansson, Orrefors, Glasgravyr. The label is in perfect condition. This makes it a special collectors item. Before Walter moved fulltime into the business as buyer and seller of glass, he was a hairdresser and only dealt in glass on the side. Being a lucrative market, he quickly made it his principal business. He operated as an independent engraver (glasgravyr) and post-order seller in the Orrefor area where sourced glass goods from various Swedish glassworks. This Vase he obtained from Åseda Glasbruk. He labelled the bought glass objects with his own label before selling them to small retail outlets.
