The lid depicts a sacrificial scene, while the sides of the vessel are adorned with allegorical motifs such as founding ancestors, crocodiles, and geometric friezes. The entire pot is supported by three female figures standing on a circular base, combining utility with symbolism. Made using the lost-wax casting technique, this piece is remarkable for its technical virtuosity and the precision of its details. Although not very old (probably from the 1950s or 1960s), it demonstrates the continuity of Dogon bronze traditions and their mastery of both form and meaning.
