Glenfarclas Christmas 1990/2009, Sherry Casks 12192-12194, 46%, 700ml Glenfarclas is one of the few independent distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1836 and owned by the Grant family since 1865. John Grant is the fifth generation to run Glenfarclas. Glenfarclas is also one of the few distilleries that have produced almost continuously since its founding. This explains the wide variety of bottlings available from this distillery. This limited edition bottling, with a run of 1,080 bottles, is part of the sought-after Glenfarclas Christmas Edition. This malt was matured in three Oloroso sherry casks. The fruity notes and sweetness of the Oloroso sherry casks have been beautifully absorbed by the whisky and are clearly perceptible.
