Ardbeg Smoketrails Napa Valley Edition, 46%, 1000ml The third installment in the Smoketrails Collection. This single malt whisky is a first: for the first time, the whisky has crossed the Atlantic to Napa Valley, California, a region known for its excellent red wines. These barrels were used to age Ardbeg whisky, complemented by whisky aged in ex-bourbon casks. Smoky notes immediately dominate the nose, complemented by rye bread and black olives. The palate is bold and smoky, with layers of vanilla, caramel, dark fruits, spices, and dark chocolate. The finish is long, spicy, smoky, and has a sweet note.
