Seiko - Seiko 5 Automatic Day-Date - 没有保留价 - 6619-8050 - 男士 - 1965

Vintage 1860’s SEIKO 5 ACTUS 6619-8050 Day-Date 21-Jewel 3 Hands/Indexes Automatic Men's Watch The SEIKO Sportsmatic Five 6619-8050 is an antique watch with automatic winding and day-date functions, one of the earliest models of the Seiko "Five" series, which debuted in the 1960s and became a global sensation. Historically, this model was released during the transition from the Sportsmatic series to the Seiko Five series. The 6619-family debuted in the mid-1960s as part of Seiko’s push to offer robust, accurate automatic day/date watches at accessible prices. It’s respected among collectors for a durable magic-lever automatic system, solid build (21 jewels, 18,000 vph), and the practical quick-set date arrangement that made daily wear convenient. The Sportsmatic series was developed by Seiko with the aim of popularizing automatic watches. The "Sportsmatic 5” a derivative of the series, was named "Five" for its five functions: shock resistance, water resistance, date display, day of the week display, and automatic winding. Technological innovations include the adoption of Seiko's proprietary "Magic Lever" automatic winding mechanism, which reduced the number of parts, improving reliability and mass production. The integrated receiver plate increased assembly efficiency and allowed for lower prices. It was a huge hit in the market immediately after its release in 1963, and exports expanded dramatically from 1965 onward. In 1966, its sales surpassed the total production of automatic watches in Switzerland. The Sportsmatic Five 6619-8970 is an antique model close to the origins of the Seiko 5 and played a key role in supporting the spread of Japanese-made automatic watches in the 1960s. For detailed technical information on the caliber 6619A 21 Jewel, it is Seiko's automatic signature movement, introduced in the 1960s. It was used in the Seiko 5 and the Sportsmatic Week Date, making it a reliable and highly serviceable practical watch. Its distinctive features, such as the Magic Lever automatic winding, day-date function, and quick-set date, contributed to the spread of Japanese-made watches at the time. For this reason, it continues to attract many vintage collectors today. ■ Brand: Seiko Sportsmatic 5 ■ Model Number:6619-8050 ■ Product Number:5707139 Manufactured July 1965: Seiko serial numbers are seven digits long, with the first two digits indicating the year and month of manufacture. The first number (5) indicates the fifth year of the 1960s, meaning the watch was manufactured in 1965. The next letter (7) is the month code. For Seiko, 1-9 represents January through September, O = October, N = November, and D = December. → "N" is November. Therefore, this watch was manufactured in July 1965. ■ Technical features of the 6619Amovement: • Details of Movement: Seiko 6619 Movement is an automatic watch movement. Production started around 1964. • Sub-brands:Sportsmatic, Seiko 5, Week dater • Day / date:Day + date • Rate:18,000 bph • Number of jewels:21 • Size / diameter:27.6mm X Height:6.4mm • Development divisions (Nagano Prefecture, Japan) • Notes: Caliber 6619A is a representative movement that supported the spread of Seiko automatic watches in the 1960s, and feature stable accuracy with 21 jewels and 18,000 vph, efficient winding with a Magic Lever, and Seiko's first quick-set date mechanism. It can still be serviced today, and is an important collectible element for Seiko 5 and Sportsmatic watches in the antique market. • Development divisions (Nagano Prefecture, Japan) ■Materials: • Case: Stainless Steel • Case Size:36mm excluding crown X 41mm including case lug Thickness: 12mm • Dial Display: Matte to sunburst finish, sharp pencil-like bar Indexes and 3 hands display, analogue Calendar day and date. Quick calendar device does not work • Case Back: S Steel back case • Total Weight:50.9gms • Crystal: plastic • Band: Brand-new leather band with 22cm long and adjustable less 5cm in 8 holes • Water Proof: water proof resistant for everyday life water dishing/showering but don't expect too much from it: Even if it was labeled "Water Proof” at the time, it doesn't meet modern waterproof standards. Avoid using it around water. • Diashock: Seiko's unique shock-resistant device that protects the balance wheel from shocks, dramatically improving the accuracy and durability of watches. It is one of Seiko's core technologies, first introduced in Marvel in 1956 and still used in current models such as Presage. • Notes: Caliber 6619 is a representative movement that supported the spread of Seiko automatic watches in the 1960s and feature stable accuracy with 21 jewels and Rate:18,000 bph, efficient winding with a Magic Lever, and Seiko's first quick-set date mechanism. It can still be serviced today, and is an important collectible element for Seiko 5 and Sportsmatic watches in the antique market. ■Condition: There are scratches on the case, case back, band and the Crystal but very fine scratches not visible to the naked eyes. Lots of fine scars/scratches are in fact proof of real true antique vintage, as they cannot be avoided occurring after long term usage of more than half century. During the test period Dec.21st to Dec.23rd the power reserve still shows more than 45 hours and time accuracy within 30seconds in 24 hours. So, the watch is in good condition overall since quick-day-set device still does work precisely, but weekday quick set does not work so it has to be set by rotating 2 hands. Very careful handling, when set the time/date, is required due to real vintage watch. The watch works properly but needs to be wound at your convenience daily by natural arm movement to keep more accurate time. It was functioning normally at the time of listing, so it should continue to function without any issues. Please be sure you are satisfied with the condition before bidding, so please check the photos and product description and ask any questions you may have (please note, however, that we may not be able to answer questions close to the end of the auction) Note: As a vintage piece, the Seiko 5 6619-8050 is a worthy and charming watch — especially if you value heritage, design, and mechanical simplicity. It won’t match modern wristwatches for convenience, but it doesn’t need to: its strength lies in its history, elegance, and the spirit of mid-70s watchmaking. ■Operation and Use • Winding: Automatic winding, so the mainspring winds with arm movement. Manual winding is not possible. • Time Setting: Pull the crown out one notch to adjust to correct time of hour/minute • Quick date change device: Push the crown into case firm enough to have a date changed • Fast-forwarding the date and day of the week between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM may cause malfunctions, so it is recommended that you set the watch to around 6:00 AM before operating it.
