During the French Revolution, the estate was split between Rauzan-Ségla and Rauzan-Gassies. In 1855, both Rauzan wines were classified Second Grand Cru.
The nose develops aromas of violet, blackberry and blackcurrant. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, with very fine tannins in the style of Margaux wines.
