精致的青瓷香炉,带有丰富的裂纹 - 陶瓷 - 浦口雅行 Uraguchi Masayuki (1964-) - 日本 - 1900-2000

Item Description This exquisite celadon incense burner is crafted by Masayuki Uraguchi (b. 1964), a celebrated contemporary ceramic artist renowned for his innovative approaches to traditional celadon techniques. The piece showcases the artist's signature "seiji" (青瓷) style, distinguished by a beautifully crazed glaze that exhibits rich depth and subtle variations in tone. The thick, lustrous glaze creates an enchanting surface where light plays across the intricate network of crazing, evoking the mystical quality that has made celadon so treasured throughout history. The form displays elegant proportions with a stable base and gently curved body, perfect for tea ceremony use or as a contemplative object in a traditional tokonoma alcove. Uraguchi's work represents the evolution of celadon from ancient Chinese traditions through modern Japanese aesthetics. His mastery lies not only in recreating classical glazes but in developing original formulations that achieve complex color variations and crystalline effects unique to his oeuvre. This incense burner embodies the artist's dedication to advancing celadon techniques while maintaining the spiritual essence that has captivated collectors for centuries. A perfect piece for serious collectors of contemporary Japanese ceramics or tea ceremony practitioners. w/o the wooden stand Size Height: 10.0 cm Width: 10.8 cm Depth: 10.8 cm Condition The piece is in good overall condition with a small chip on the lid and minor signs of age consistent with a ceramic work. His work has garnered significant recognition both in Japan and internationally. In 1990, he received the Excellence Award at the International Ceramic Exhibition, and in 2002, he won the Special Prize at the Ibaraki Prefectural Art Festival Exhibition.
