A stylish pair of original French Art Deco bookends depicting juggling Pierrots (clowns). The dynamic figures are capturing a ball while balancing on one leg. Created by the renowned French sculptor Maurice Frécourt (1890-1961), active during the Art Deco period. Material & Technique: The figures are crafted from silver-plated spelter (art metal/regule). They are mounted on rectangular bases made of black veined marble (Portor marble). Signature: Signed "FRECOURT" engraved in the marble base (visible in photos).
