Otagaki Rengetsu (January 8, 1791 (February 10, Kansei 4) - December 10, 1875 (Meiji 8)) was a nun, poet, and potter in the late Edo period. He was commonly known as En, Bosatsu, and Intoku.
His ceramic works, in which he carved waka poetry into them with a nail, are known as "Rentaku ware" and are so highly regarded that they have become popular Kyoto souvenirs.
These are truly tasteful and beautiful pieces.
It is in good condition.
This tea bowl features a poem by Otagaki Rengetsu.
