A large Chinese flambe-glazed (Ge-type glaze) vase with applied plum-blossom handles, decorated in underglaze blue with a design of "lions frolicking with brocaded balls" (Shizi Gun Xiuqiu). The depicted lions stand on auspicious clouds, rendered with a lively sense of movement. There is a small, usage-related chip below the rim, fortunately limited in size.
