"It is considered a hard rock classic and“one of the most important hard rock records" The album was recorded in February 1976 at Musicland Studios in Munich with producer Martin Birch. Ritchie Blackmore only kept singer Ronnie James Dio from the line-up of the previous album.Drummer Cozy Powell,bassist Jimmy Bain and keyboardist,Tony Carey were added. The band was still known as Blackmore’s Rainbow in the USA at that time. In the first issue of Kerrang! Rising was voted the number one album of all time.
