This Altay iron meteorite displays beautiful Widmanstätten patterns. It weighs 146 grams with dimensions of 64 × 64 × 4 mm. Classified as an iron-nickel meteorite, it has extremely strong magnetism and a primary fusion crust. Originating from the core of an asteroid, it was discovered in the Altay region of Xinjiang in 1898. Its octahedral structure took millions of years to form.
