永恒的黑色奥比釉金缮茶碗——大胆的黑色釉面配铁刷工艺 - 石器 - 日本 - Edo Period (1600-1868)

Item Description This is an authentic antique Kuro-Oribe tea bowl from the Mino kiln tradition, dating to the Momoyama to Early Edo period. Kuro-Oribe represents one of the most distinctive expressions of Japanese tea ceramics, characterized by its dramatic contrast between deep black iron glaze and white feldspar glaze with iron painted decorations. The bowl showcases the bold aesthetic sensibilities of the Oribe style, named after the influential tea master Furuta Oribe. The piece exhibits the classic Kuro-Oribe technique where parts of the vessel are left unglazed to create areas for iron oxide decoration, which are then covered with a white glaze. This creates a striking visual dialogue between the lustrous black glaze and the decorated white sections. The form demonstrates typical characteristics of Oribe tea bowls with intentional asymmetry and slight distortions that add visual interest and reflect the tea ceremony aesthetic principle of wabi-sabi. The piece shows honest signs of age and use consistent with its historical period, adding to its authenticity and character as a genuine antique tea implement. The bowl comes with a fitted storage box (shitatebako), which helps protect and preserve this precious example of Japanese ceramic art. This type of Kuro-Oribe tea bowl is highly valued by tea ceremony practitioners and collectors for its historical significance and artistic merit. Size Height: 7 cm Width: 14 cm Depth: 11 cm Weight 431 g Condition The bowl shows age-appropriate wear consistent with an authentic antique piece from the Momoyama to Early Edo period. Surface displays patina and signs of historical use typical of tea ceremony wares. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation.
