An exquisite Japanese uchikake 打ち掛け (wedding kimono), offered in New Old Stock condition. This formal bridal uchikake is crafted from fine silk and richly decorated with embroidered crane birds 鶴 (tsuru), peony flowers 牡丹 (botan), and a wide array of auspicious Japanese motifs. The vivid, saturated colours give the garment a striking visual presence. The interior is lined with vibrant vermillion silk, while the thickly padded hem, traditionally weighted with cotton, allows the uchikake to drape gracefully when worn or displayed. The kimono is in very good condition and has never been worn or used. One crane shows some age-related discolouration, consistent with long-term storage.
