日本箱根寄木细工木镶嵌(木造眼)艺术品——“两条鲤鱼”——昭和时期 - 木 - Masahide Nagasawa - 日本 - 20世纪
Description: A stunning example of Japanese traditional craftsmanship: a large-scale Hakone Wood Inlay (Mokuzougan) artwork by the renowned master artisan Masahide Nagasawa.
This exquisite piece depicts two carps (Koi) swimming energetically, a traditional Japanese symbol of perseverance, success, and courage ("Risshin Shusse").
Technique & Artist: Hakone Wood Inlay is a meticulous technique where various types of natural wood are cut and fitted together like a puzzle to create a picture. No artificial dyes are used; every color and texture is the result of carefully selected natural wood grains. Masahide Nagasawa is one of the most celebrated figures in this field, known for his precision and artistic composition.
Condition: The artwork is in excellent vintage condition, preserved in its original frame. On the reverse, there is a commemorative inscription from the Odawara Agricultural Cooperative, indicating this was a high-quality bespoke gift for a long-service award—a common practice for premium lacquerware and woodcrafts in Japan during the 20th century.
