A lovely antique Chinese porcelain ovoid egg shaped tea caddy with a central decoration of happy looking beetles amidst floral sprays in a moulded cartouche, surrounded by other floral sprays executed in a nice cobalt underglaze blue with overglaze red and gold. Finished with a brown glazed rim. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Qing dynasty, Qianlong period (1735-1796). Guaranteed original and of the stated period. Including the original lid. Height: 14,2 centimeter. Condition: The lid is in perfect condition, a minor baking imperfection. The teacaddy also with baking imperfections, and a few chips.
