Japanese War Wound Medal (Senshō-shō) with Original Case – Shōwa Period Description This lot features a Japanese War Wound Medal (Senshō-shō), an official military decoration awarded to soldiers who sustained injuries during wartime service. The medal is made of metal and displays a traditional paulownia leaf (kiri) motif on the obverse, a design commonly associated with Japanese state and military decorations. The reverse side bears the inscription “戦傷章” (War Wound Medal). The original style ribbon is present, showing period-correct colors and construction, and an accompanying miniature ribbon device (rosette) is also included.
