A Russian silver ( 84 zolotniks = 875/1,000 standard ) cigarette case from Russia . Circa 1900. Russian silver , gold gilt ( 24 ct. ) on the inside and enamel cigarette case; the exterior of the case is decorated in a foliate design in polychrome enamels on a green ground, the thumb piece is a cabochon garnet. This traditional Russian style is very popular at the moment . The piece bears a maker's mark but we were not able to exactly identify it. The piece was externally appraised and an appraisal certificate is to hand. Size : L. 11 cm. ( 4 21/64" ) x B. 7.5 cm. ( 2 61/64 " ) x H. 2.5 cm. ( 1 " ). Weight : 217 g. ( 7.65 ounces ). Condition : very good - some very minor signs of use inside.
