This kimono is for women and features an indigo-dyed vertical stripe pattern. The outer fabric uses navy blue for both warp and weft threads, but the warp threads incorporate hand-spun yarn at regular intervals, woven to create the appearance of stripes. The sleeves also incorporate fabric with black and gray stripes. The collar uses black silk fabric. The lining uses a deep navy hand-spun fabric, dyed increasingly darker indigo toward the hem and collar. The use of high-quality lining fabric reflects Japanese aesthetic sensibility.
