BIOGRAPHY Red Ruth was an Anglo American activist who followed The Velvet Underground in the US before moving to the UK in the 70's and later taking up permanent residence at Greenham Common Peace Camp adjacent to the principal US Air Force nuclear weapons base during the Cold War years. The camp became internationally recognized and synonymous as a symbol of the nuclear disarmament group, most known for its direct action tactics.
