Lebois - Art Deco - 没有保留价 - 男士 - 1900-1949

A charming example of late Art Deco watchmaking from Lebois, the French-founded Swiss brand established in 1934 by Raymond Dodane of the storied Dodane watchmaking dynasty. This dress watch exemplifies the elegant sector dial designs that defined the 1930s and 1940s, featuring the distinctive concentric rings and stylized Arabic numerals characteristic of the period. The champagne sector dial is particularly noteworthy, displaying the era's favored design language with its outer minute track, decorative Arabic hour markers (including the distinctive looped "8" numerals), and beautifully engine-turned subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock. The dial shows honest, unrestored patina that collectors of vintage timepieces often seek. The chrome-plated case is unusually large at 37mm and exhibits wear consistent with its considerable age. The "FONDACIER" marking on the caseback indicates the typical construction of the period: stainless steel back with chrome-plated top — a practical approach used by many quality Swiss makers before stainless steel cases became universal. The manual-wind Swiss movement, while unsigned (common practice for private-label brands of the era), is clean and functional, featuring Geneva stripes on the bridges and quality construction typical of the better ébauche manufacturers of the period. Historical note: Lebois & Co. was founded in Besançon, France by Raymond Dodane but produced Swiss-made timepieces. The brand found particular success in the Italian market before ceasing production in 1972 during the quartz crisis. Vintage Lebois chronographs have commanded strong prices at auction, with a 1945 example selling for over $6,000 at Christie's in 2012. The brand was revived in 2014 and continues to draw inspiration from its 1940s heritage. CONDITION SUMMARY Case: Chrome shows wear on lugs and bezel edges consistent with age. Structurally sound. Dial: Original, unrestored. Light spotting and age patina. All printing legible. Crystal: Original plexi with minor surface wear. Movement: Running and keeping time. Service history unknown. Case size: 37mm excluding crown Lug-to-lug: 44mm Thickness: 10mm Lug width: 20mm Bracelet length: 20cm total No box/papers Fitted with aftermarket brown calf leather strap. *** Cyan Collectibles is collector-run and based in Singapore.
All watches are carefully and securely packed before being shipped, insured and tracked.
For the standard shipping fee charged, most watches will be shipped by global courier FedEx or its equivalent. In rare instances when this is not possible, shipping will be international registered parcel post with limited tracking.

Do note that your country of residence may impose customs and import duties.
Handling charges levied by couriers for customs processing - usually minor - will be the responsibility of the buyer. Shipments to the US have become increasingly problematic and slow following the Trump administration’s uneven application of new import restrictions. Expect delays and additional shipping costs. Please examine the photos before bidding, as they form an integral part of the description. Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
