日本复古男士羽织外套——鹰与富士山图案——丝绸——日本——传统和服 - 真丝 - 日本 - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

Japanese vintage men’s haori with hawk and Mt. Fuji motif The product is only the haori jacket. This is a traditional Japanese men’s haori featuring a powerful hawk depicted together with Mt. Fuji. The exterior is made of a calm, subdued blue-gray textured silk fabric, while the interior is decorated with an elegant and dynamic hawk motif rendered in a realistic style. In Japanese culture, the hawk symbolizes strength, ambition, and success, and when combined with Mt. Fuji, the composition represents good fortune and high aspirations. This auspicious motif has long been favored in samurai and men’s formal wear. The lining artwork shows clear brushwork and soft shading, indicating that it is hand-painted rather than printed. Such detailed hand-painted linings are characteristic of higher-quality men’s haori from the pre-war to early Shōwa period and are no longer produced today. Haori length: approx. 88.5 cm Wingspan (sleeve to sleeve): approx. 138 cm Body width (waist): approx. 61 cm Haori length 88.5 cm → suitable for men approx. 165–175 cm tall. Please note: In traditional Japanese style, the hem reaches around the hips, but overseas it is also fashionable to wear haori slightly shorter as a jacket. Condition (for Catawiki) Good condition This haori is in overall good condition. There may be very minor and unobtrusive marks consistent with age, which are difficult to notice when worn or displayed. No major stains or damage are observed. The garment still retains its original basting stitches, suggesting it was rarely or never worn. Material and texture The outer fabric is made of textured silk with visible slubs, giving it a slightly firm and structured feel rather than a smooth, glossy surface. This type of silk weave was commonly used for men’s haori from the pre-war to early Shōwa period and is valued for its durability and understated elegance. The fabric’s slightly crisp texture is a characteristic feature of traditional men’s silk garments and should not be considered a flaw.
